1. Introduction

AI Listing Optimizer ("we", "our", "the App") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we access, how we use it, and how we protect it. By installing the App, you agree to this policy.

2. Data We Access

We only request the minimum Shopify API permissions needed to operate:

• Product data (read/write) — titles, descriptions, images, tags, SEO metadata, pricing, and product type. Required to analyze and optimize your listings.

We do NOT access: customer data, order data, financial data, staff accounts, or any other Shopify data beyond product listings.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To analyze your product listings and calculate SEO scores
• To generate AI-optimized titles, descriptions, and metadata
• To process and enhance product images
• To store original listing data so you can revert changes at any time
• To track your usage against your subscription plan limits

4. AI Processing

Product data is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for text optimization. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train their models. Your product data is processed and discarded — it is not stored by Anthropic beyond the API request lifetime.

5. Data Storage & Retention

• Optimization records (original + optimized text) are stored in our database so you can review, apply, or revert changes. These are retained while you have the App installed.
• Shop settings (industry, tone, brand voice) are stored to personalize AI output. Deleted when you uninstall the App.
• Session data is stored for authentication purposes only.

When you uninstall the App, all your data is permanently deleted within 48 hours (triggered by Shopify's mandatory shop/redact webhook).

6. Data Sharing

We do NOT sell, rent, or share your data with third parties, except:

• Anthropic (Claude API) — for AI text optimization, under their data processing terms
• Our database hosting provider — for secure data storage, under strict data processing agreements

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including: encrypted data transmission (TLS), secure database connections (SSL), input sanitization to prevent injection attacks, and access controls on all API endpoints.

8. Your Rights

You can request a copy of your data or request deletion at any time by contacting us. Uninstalling the App automatically triggers complete data deletion.

9. GDPR Compliance

We comply with GDPR requirements. We process data as a data processor on behalf of you (the data controller). We respond to data access and deletion requests via Shopify's mandatory GDPR webhooks.
